Wendy has superb CSS and HTML skills and a sharp design sense. She crafted a number of websites from start to finish -- wire frames, logos, color palettes, templates for PHP-driven pages, and navigation schemes. She has a strong work ethic, a congenial disposition and worked effectively with both editorial and IT staff members. Wendy was also an important voice in the company’s strategic discussions. She has a keen understanding of the Web, and of the challenges facing publishers endeavoring to gather audience around quality content and engaging functionality. Wendy is bright, experienced, thoughtful and industrious. I can warmly recommend her.

A founding member of the 14-year-old MaineToday.com team, Wendy served as the site’s senior designer—until leaving in 2009 to design Web sites on her own. Wendy studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Boston and the University of Massachusetts. In addition to design skills, her toolkit includes GUI design for the web, XHTML and CSS development, meticulous project and time management, and the ability to shepherd a project from scribbles on a napkin to a beautiful and effective work of technology and art.
